- 4 oz feta cheese
- 6 oz gruyere cheese, grated
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- ¼ tsp white pepper
- 15 sheets Ziyad brand Fillo Dough
- ½ c Sultan brand Olive Oil
- 4 oz butter, melted
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Place feta cheese in bowl and mash with a fork. Add gruyere, egg, and pepper. Combine thoroughly and set aside.
Combine oil and butter in separate bowl. Unfold fillo dough and cut in half widthwise.
Important: Keep unused fillo covered with a damp towel to prevent from drying out.
Place half of a sheet lengthwise. Brush with oil/butter mixture. Fold into thirds. Brush with oil mixture.
Place 1 tablespoon of cheese mixture on one corner of the dough. Fold opposite corner of the dough over the filling to the edge to form a triangle. Fold end over end until the filling is enclosed and the end of the dough is reached. Repeat process until all of the filling is used.
Place the triangles filled with cheese on a lightly greased baking tray and brush one final time with the oil/butter mixture.
Bake 20 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp. Enjoy!!
